About the championship

Format

The Championship shall be played at the Siam Country Club, Waterside, Pattaya.  Round 1: Thursday 1st February Round 2: Friday 2nd February Round 3: Saturday 3rd February Round 4: Sunday 4th February The winner shall be the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific champion and receive the Rae-Vadee T. Suwan Champion’s Medal.  It is a 72 hole stroke play event consisting of four rounds. One round of 18 holes shall be played on each of the first two days for which one draw shall be made. The players returning the 50 lowest scores, and anyone tying for 50th place over the first 36 holes shall qualify for the final 36 holes over the last two days.  For the final 36 holes, the pairings and starting times shall be determined in accordance with the qualifying scores, players with the lowest scores starting last.  In the event of a tie for the Championship after four rounds, the players who tie shall play a hole-by-hole sudden death play-off using the 18th hole only to determine the Champion. 

Exemptions

The winner earns invitations to play in three major championships – the AIG Women’s Open, the Amundi Evian Championship and The Chevron Championship as well as elite championships such as the Hana Financial Group ChampionshipISPS HANDA Women’s Australian OpenThe 121st Women’s Amateur Championship and the Augusta National Women’s Amateur The runner-up will receive a place in the Final Qualifying stage of the 2024 AIG Women’s Open. Ties will be decided in favour of the highest ranked player on WAGR at the commencement of the tournament.  The winner and runner-up must be an amateur at the time of participating in the AIG Women’s Open, The Amundi Evian Championship and The Chevron Championship. The winner will also receive invitations to other professional and amateur championships which will be confirmed in due course.
