The Vagliano Trophy is a women’s amateur international match between Great Britain and Ireland and the Continent of Europe.
It was first played in 1959 at Wentworth and is now organised by The R&A and the European Golf Association (EGA). The Vagliano trophy was provided by French golfer Andre Vagliano. The junior girls’ equivalent match was first held in 2011.GB&I Team Selection Criteria - (team of 8)
- The current Women’s Amateur Champion, if eligible.
- The top-five GB&I players in the World Amateur Golf Ranking® (WAGR ®) on Wednesday 14 June. Should The Women’s Amateur Champion occupy one of the guaranteed WAGR positions or any of the leading five WAGR players are unavailable the place(s) will not transfer to the next ranked GB&I player.

The Vagliano Trophy
2023 Championship
The Vagliano Trophy is being played over the same days as the Junior Vagliano Trophy at Royal Dornoch in 2023. Royal Dornoch, situated in the Scottish Highlands, is recognised as one of the world’s best venues, with the Championship Course set to pose a wonderful links test. The sister Struie Course is also highly regarded.

Women in Golf Leadership Development Programme
The Leadership Development Programme is open to women working in organisations that are committed to our Women in Golf Charter who want to realise their potential and become future leaders.
Recent graduates of the programme say they have greatly benefitted from the programme and support provided by coaches and mentors.
