Golf is open to all
There was a new look for the R&A Girls’ and Boys’ Home Internationals in 2022, comprising of one combined team of girls and boys.
England not only made history by winning the first-ever combined team format at Downfield, they swept all three competitions, winning the combined event and the girls’ and the boys’ competitions. Teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales – made up of 16 players (seven girls and nine boys) – will now gather at Lindrick to compete in the new format across three days. Over 18 holes, each match consists of seven foursomes games (three girls and four boys) and 14 singles games (six girls and eight boys). Team positions will be determined by the highest number of match points. Lindrick, England
South Yorkshire venue Lindrick is one of the UK’s finest inland courses, providing an excellent challenge to golfers of all abilities. The course, which is a mixture of heathland and moorland, will forever be etched in the history books. It was here that Great Britain and Ireland beat the USA 7.5 – 4.5 to win the 1957 Ryder Cup after a gap of 24 years, led by captain Dai Rees.

Girls' Amateur Championship
First played in 1919, the R&A Girls’ Amateur Championship is a highly coveted junior title.
Past winners include major champions and Solheim Cup players such as Anna Nordqvist, Suzann Pettersen, Azahara Munoz and Georgia Hall. More recently, Slovenia's Pia Babnik triumphed in 2019 and has already gone on to win on the Ladies’ European Tour.
The winner gains exemptions into the Women’s Amateur Championship, the US Girls’ Junior Championship, Final Qualifying for the AIG Women’s Open and by tradition, an invite to compete at Augusta National Women's Amateur Championship.
