Support Us

The R&A Foundation combines funding from The R&A with philanthropic investment to deliver projects across five key areas:

  • Accessibility – developing facilities and programmes which enable people to get into golf
  • Sustainability – increasing our understanding of the environmental impact and benefits of golf
  • Health – investing in research and programming that use golf to improve people’s physical and mental health
  • Heritage – expanding the reach of The World Golf Museum
  • Talent – supporting the pathways that enable people to reach their potential through golf
Donations can be directed towards one of the five themes, or you may wish to support The R&A Foundation and give in an unrestricted way, enabling your donation to be used to support the Foundation’s work across any of these themes based on The R&A’s strategic priorities. In 2023 more than £700,000 in unrestricted donations were allocated to a range of programmes that will transform lives and communities through golf, that include:
  • Donation of a Paragolfer to Woburn Golf Club, host venue of The G4D Open, to create a legacy from the Championship and enable those with lower limb disabilities to stand to play the sport.
  • The Royal and Ancient Golf Club Scholarship funding to support an initial cohort of up to 12 young people with education and golf bursary support for up to four years.
  • Materials capture of the experience of Caddies in St Andrews over the last 60 years, in preparation for a new exhibition at The R&A World Golf Museum.
  • International roll-out of a Community Golf Instructor Programme, including in Romania, the Netherlands, Philippines, Vietnam, Egypt and Uganda, further to its development in Great Britain and Ireland.
  • Creation of a Scholar exchange programme with the USGA for R&A Greenkeeping Scholars and USGA interns.
