Golf is open to all
The Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific championship (WAAP) has been developed by The R&A and Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation to unearth emerging talent and provide a pathway for Asia’s elite female amateurs to the international stage.
The winner earns invitations to play in three major championships – the AIG Women’s Open, the Amundi Evian Championship and The Chevron Championship as well as elite championships such as the Hana Financial Group Championship, ISPS HANDA Women’s Australian Open, The 122nd Women’s Amateur Championship and the Augusta National Women’s Amateur. The Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific championship’s seventh edition will be held at Hoiana Shores, Vietnam from 6-8 March 2025. This will be the first time Vietnam has hosted the championship which launched the careers of three major champions, Yuka Saso, Patty Tavatanakit, Ayaka Furue, and former world number one Jeeno Thitikul. The golf course is set against a spectacular coast line and breathtaking unspoiled natural terrain, offering majestic views of the Eastern Sea and Cham Islands and is renowned for its testing back nine sea breeze and bunkers.
